Finding the Art of Writing

22 Jun

Recently, Ninaroo and I got to talking about wanting to try our hand at Calligraphy.  It has been something we’ve always wanted to try… and with any luck, we could practice enough so that by the time HU gets married, we could help. 😉  We did a little review searching and settled on these because the price was decent and it appeared we got the most bang for our buck.  We got these for $20 each:

So, we had the Ryu’s over for dinner this week so that the boys could hang out while we gave calligraphy a whirl!

No judgements please… remember, it’s our first day! Couple things to note… The book that comes with this Sheaffer Kit is not great… we were trying for so long to figure out some of the letterings, but once we YouTubed, we had much better luck.  Seriously, lots of phrases like “oohhhhhh, that’s SO much easier” escaped our lips. Simultaneously.  We’re freakish like that. 😉

Like I said…. NOOO judgement, please, I beg of you!  I know how bad it looks…

… but we’ll be sure to keep you guys updated!

P.S. We are looking forward to a great weekend at Casa de Earnest… my cousin, Brian (from this video), is coming to visit while he’s in town for a conference!  We are all looking forward to it since he’s getting married this September!
